Our Board


Dr. Stuart Crosbie | Chair (July 2007)

Stuart joined the Trust in July 2007 and is responsible for developing the strategic focus of the Trust along with promoting good business practice. He has run his own management consulting business for the past 15 years having formerly held consulting and management positions in a variety of public and private companies.

Stuart's PhD is in statistics and he also has an honours degree in mathematics and a diploma in art and creativity. Other current governance roles include being Deputy Chair of the Manukau Institute of Technology and President of an environmental protection group - the Advocates for the Tongariro River.


Bill Alden (March 2002)

Bill is also a founding Trustee who - with qualifications in accountancy, experience in management and a keen interest in information technology - has served as Treasurer. He has also supported the CEO in the financial and administrative management of the Trust until the appointment of our Business Practice Manager.

Bill's other community roles include being a Trustee of the Mangere Bridge Service, Treasurer for Te Whare Marama O Mangere Women's Refuge and an advisor to a number of other local community groups.


Jack Crutzen (Feb 2007)

Jack has been a Trustee with Genesis Youth Trust since February 2007 and is also a board member of Facility Management Association New Zealand, chairing their Education Committee.

He has more than 20 years of experience in change and project management, consultancy, operations management and business development a and is currently the director at PRISMA Facilities Management.

Jack holds a Master of Management and Master of Business Administration (Netherlands). He is actively involved in his two son's school and sport clubs, coaching and mentoring (young) professionals.


Henare Clarke (Sept 2010)

A Trustee since September 2010 Henare is also the Regional Manager of Northern Operations for Downer NZ, one of our sponsors. He has worked in the roading sector for over 30 years and his 400+ complement of staff span a diverse range of skills and qualification levels.

Henare sees his role as building teams and providing positive leadership. His labour market knowledge, management, mentoring and coaching skills together with expertise in strategic thinking are all valued by the Trust.


Hugh Gollan (Sept 2012)

Hugh's early work experience was in the corporate finance sector in Wellington (with Jarden & Co.) followed by investment banking experience in USA, Russia and Australia (with Credit Suisse First Boston) and Singapore (with Brierley Investments).

Prior to joining the Trust in 2012 Hugh switched his time between New Zealand and Korea with a focus on development assistance in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, helping finance some 250 small to medium sized enterprises in a socialist economy with a particular emphasis on microfinance lending techniques.

Hugh is a New Zealander with a 1st Class Honours Bachelor of Engineering from Auckland University and a Masters of Management in Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


Agnes TeMoni-Morehu (June 2013)

Agnes is of Maori descent and was born and raised in the beautiful western Bay of Plenty. Her upbringing, gives her the innate ability to understand at a deeper lever, the social, economic, physical, emotional, cultural, family and spiritual dynamics of Maori youth and their families. Agnes is most importantly a mother of three sons, one daughter and two grand-daughters.

Over the last 13+ years Agnes has been working as a qualified Social Worker and Senior Practice Manager for the founding Police Youth Development Programme, Community Approach which is our “Big Sister" Programme based in Mt Roskill.I believe, uphold, and respect the mana and integrity of the Genesis Youth Trust. I believe in the ability for our staff to reach out and touch the hearts of our young people & their families.

My commitment as a member of Genesis' Board of Trustees lies in my passion to serve within my community in which I live and to help make a difference as I approach retirement. I am a living example of the definition of overcoming adversity as a Maori woman and rising to the challenge of life.


Tauiliili Cilla Tofilau (Aug 2013)

Cilla is the External Relations Manager at Manukau Institute of Technology. Her experience encompasses very wide contact with the communities of the South Auckland region, working as a consultant to boards and organisations as well as a long assocation with MIT.

Cilla is currently a Board member of the Otara Business Association, a member of the Maungakiekie-Tamaki Youth Connections Governance Group and the MIT Indian Community Advisory Group.


Chris DWChris de Wattignar (Sept 2013)

Chris is the Police Area Commander Manager for Counties Manukau South (Papakura/Franklin). He serves on the Genesis Youth Trust in a private capacity.

He has spent over 16 years working across a range of police functions, including criminal investigations, intelligence, road safety, project management and crime prevention. Most of that work has been conducted in South Auckland, where Chris is passionate about making positive changes in the community. His goal is to help local neighbourhoods become high achieving places to live, study and work. He believes this must be done from the ground-up, starting with young people and their families. This vision is shared by his wife, who works as a Clinical Psychologist in forensic mental health.

Chris has previously been the Privacy Officer of his son's Kohanga Reo and he is the Chair of the Trust's Risk Committee. He has a Bachelors degree in Philosophy and a Masters degree in International Security.

Skye Nicholls

Skye Nicholls (June 2014)

Skye is an experienced business executive and has been with Converga since 2003. He has held various senior executive roles focused around driving revenue, profit growth, developing and executing corporate strategy.

Prior to his appointment as General Manager, Global Business Services, Skye was a country Manager in New Zealand and successfully completed the merger of the NZ business. Skye has extensive hands on experience driving business growth through various channels, including M&A activites. Skye is also a director of Reachmedia.
