Murphy Park Otahuhu : 10am - 2pm

The 2014 Otahuhu Family Fun Day, Celebrating and Connecting Community, was an incredible success again this year. Impeccable weather, over 35 local stalls and continuous entertainment drew large crowds to Murphy Park.

There was something for everyone to enjoy including: local businesses showcasing products, health and social services and sports clubs promoting themselves, a variety of food stalls, including the famous Kings College cupcake stand!, the ever-popular Playstation interactive arquee and inflatable slides.

Using creative flare and non-stop banter Genesis Youth Trust emcees and DJ Leeny introduced the crowds to numerous stage acts including: Tallen, a Genesis client, who danced up a storm in the Cook Island Performance Group; The Otara Kingsmen Trio, featuring Genesis Youth Worker Tutatvake Petero, who wowed the crowds with their rap tracks and the Pikinima Trust Fitness Group and CLM Group performing dynamic and vigorous Zumba and fitness routines.

This free annual event is thanks to the hard work and determination of ‘Otahuhu Family Fun Day Committee’ members and the Mangere-Otahuhu Local Board.
